Originally coming from a circus and street performing background, Aaron began dancing contact improvisation in 1990. Nia - Karri Winn

Karri is a certified Black Belt Nia Technique instructor and has been an active Nia teacher since 2001. She has studied somatics and body-mind-spirit movement for personal mastery and physical conditioning since 1994. Her studies include anatomy, eastern healing philosophies, energy, nutrition, structural integration, yoga, aikido, martial arts philosophy and indigenous knowledge frameworks used to expand perceptual awareness. Hip-hop & Breakdance - Crykit aka B-girl Crix

Crykit aka Miss Crix could quite possibly be one of the funkiest white girls you know… She discovered the underground SF hip hop scene in 2001 - Started as a freestyle dancer, moved on to popping, but found her heart in bgirling in 2003. Miss Crix is a member of the all female battle crew Extra Credit. Crykit began performing with Soul Sector in 2007, then Supreme Soul in 2008, and is currently the only female performing with Supreme Soul.

Body of Sound - Alyssa DeCaro

Alyssa DeCaro is a percussionist, vocalist, and dancer, and has been immersed in music and dance her entire life. She has been a performer and choreographer in Gamelan X for 5 years. In 2006, she founded BODY OF SOUND, and she teaches workshops and retreats internationally based on the notion that Rhythm, Voice and Movement are the most natural and powerful ways to communicate. Contemporary: Club Dance Fusion- Samantha Giron

Artistic director Samantha Giron is the creator and co-producer of Makeup Mutiny – a monthly San Francisco event featuring dance art by some of the Bay Area’s hottest dance companies, and morphs into a multi-room dance party. Giron earned an MFA in Choreography from California Institute of the Arts and a BA in Dance from Mills College, and has performed the choreography of Mark Morris, Tere O'Connor, and Scott Wells. Giron’s choreography has been performed at venues such as: Cowell Theater at Fort Mason, ODC, Project Artaud Theater, WestWave Dance Festival, Burning Man Festival, Burning Man Decompression SF and LA, Boulder Fringe Festival, San Diego’s Casa del Prado Theater, Santa Fe Complex, Highways Performance Space, Electric Lodge, LACMA and The Unknown Theater. Samantha Giron is a dance advocate, educator and producer. Tribal Fusion Belly Dance - Bliss Butterfly

Bliss Butterfly is a passionate dancer who loves to share the inspiration of movement art. She specializes in bellydance and fire art while incorporating a variety of training including yoga, martial art, and many other modalities of flow. Bliss has trained extensively for years in the bellydance community for the last eight years with her original training in Tribal Fusion from Amy Sigil. She is also continually absorbing new material and inspiration from the fire community in Oakland and Internationally. With gratitude she offers playful discipline in the art of dance.

GlitterGirl has been a professional fire dancer and instructor since 2002 when she established the world-renowned Temple of Poi, the first poi fire and flow dancing school in the world. She has been featured on two Circle of Lights DVDs (produced by “Home of Poi”), produced five Fire Dancing Expos in San Francisco's Union Square, and has traveled the world teaching and performing flow arts. "Unpredictable Storytelling" - Amy Cranch & Miss Rosie

Amy has trained and performed in various movement and theater styles throughout her life, including, most recently, expressive healing dance with Anna Halprin and Motion Theater with Nina Wise. Formerly from Chicago, Amy performed with the highly acclaimed Redmoon Theater, as well as the city’s premiere devotional chanting band, Devi 2000, for several years. She has also been practicing yoga for nearly 15 years and teaching it since 2002. Underpinning every passion is an unwavering commitment to personal and spiritual growth, while also having a jolly good time with jolly good folks.

Miss Rosie has been a movement teacher since 2005, and a dancer since she was 5 years old. She is an actress and performance artist, and loves improvising through storytelling, hooping, and dancing. She has taught hooping around the world at hoop gatherings and major festivals, and has performed internationally as far away as the Middle East. Her company Hero Hoops offers classes and teacher trainings, and she is the founder and executive producer of Movement Play Events; Both companies are dedicated to helping people create more joy and pleasure in their lives through movement and community building. Acroyoga - Yogi Hendlin

Flying and Basing, and getting into threesomes and foursomes with acrobats titillate Yogi. With a background in capoeira, ashtanga yoga, and meditation, Yogi first found Acroyoga at Burning Man 2006, and hasn't stopped flying since. Yogi became a certified Acroyoga teacher in August 2008, and has taught in Santa Monica and Venice Beach, and at festivals including Fire Drums and the Symbiosis Gathering. Iris Bieri has been practicing Feng Shui since 1992. Her passion is to help people transform their homes into vibrant, harmonious living spaces that support their deepest goals and life intentions. Her practice is enhanced by her extensive studies in interior design, photography, the chakra system, color healing and alchemy, as well as a long standing spiritual practice centered in loving kindness, open hearted communication and intuitive guidance. She holds a certificate in Healing Arts from the Center of Spiritual Healing and has more than 20 years of experience as a career coach and recruiter in the software industry.

Exploring Beginning & Intermediate Staff Manipulation Techniques - Chris Williams

Chris loves the cross-pollination of fire-prop techniques and has been exploring the overlap in his own dance style for 8 years. He strives to create a visual experience that bridges the contrast between pure technical manipulation and energetic dance. He co-founded "Fluid Luminescence - Cirus Arts Collective" in San Luis Obispo, where his unique dance expression blossomed, thanks largely to the varied and supportive community members. He now performs with Staff, double staves and poi in solo acts around the Bay Area.

Slackline - Andrew Castle

Andrew Castle traveled to California's High Sierra early in 2006 where he trained with professional rock climbers and Slack-line pioneers cultivating the new sport. Nearly three years of intensive training and exposure followed. With deep roots in the Bay Area dance community Andrew draws inspiration and energy from the overlap of outdoor adventure health practices with the excitement and fitness of movement arts. A native of the North Bay Andrew is pleased to share the power and grace of Slack-line and wilderness with the Movement Play community.

Juggling - Blaze

Blaze is a founding partner at Renegade Juggling, supplying juggling and fire arts equipment since 1982. He is a co-producer of the first "Renegade" shows at American and European juggling festivals, the name now designating any variety show drawing from talents of festival participants. Blaze is an avid hooper, roller-skater, and dance enthusiast, and is excited to share juggling and movement arts with the participants at Movement Play.
